Ambisonic Steam Trains features recordings of 3 different narrow-gauge railways in Saxony/Germany where they meander through narrow valleys and bends.
The library includes more than 3.5 hours of recordings that are taken directly at the train drivers position in the cabin as well as from wagon platforms and passenger seats.
Also recordings of train pass-bys, shunting and service operations in the depot are included.
With the Ambisonic format it is guaranteed that the acoustically rich and diversified surroundings of steam trains in action are captured spherical in each and every detail.Ambisonic Steam Trains contains 4 channel A-Format files recorded with the Ambeo VR microphone in upright position.
These files need conversion to B Format prior to further processing. We recommend the Sennheiser Ambeo Converter Plugin.Note: The library also contains ready-made stereo mixdowns for your convenience.

Passing Trains is a new library that features impressive sounds of Express, Freight, and Passenger trains that approach, pass, stop and pull out.
The recordings took place at several isolated spots in Saxon Switzerland near Dresden. This rock formation is cut by a river that formed a deep valley where the rails snake along.
Due to the complex reflection patterns caused by the rock walls, some of the included takes have amazing long tails of up 3 minutes. These tails sound like otherworldly swells of approaching iron and steel. Passing Trains also contains some impressive close-ups that were taken with lavaliers and contact microphones attached directly at the rail.SKU: D-PT
