Passing Trains is a new library that features impressive sounds of Express, Freight, and Passenger trains that approach, pass, stop and pull out. The recordings took place at several isolated spots in Saxon Switzerland near Dresden. This rock formation is cut by a river that formed a deep valley where the rails snake along.
Due to the complex reflection patterns caused by the rock walls, some of the included takes have amazing long tails of up 3 minutes. These tails sound like otherworldly swells of approaching iron and steel. Passing Trains also contains some impressive close-ups that were taken with lavaliers and contact microphones attached directly at the rail.
